We are based on donations. Food Venue & meditation instructions are provided free of charge, thanks to the devotees of the Lake Monastery. You are welcome to contribute to the upkeep of the monastery & the cost of food.
While it is possible, we strongly recommend you to be present on day 1, as it will set the tone for the other two days
We have cushions & chairs at the temple, however you can bring your yoga mats, umbrellas, etc.
Bring your winter wear as we might step outside for walking meditations. For indoors dress conservatively preferably in light colors.
We will start the day at 8:00am with breakfast, Meditation starts at 8:30am and will go on till 5:30pm. On the last day the program will end at 3:00pm
Breakfast and Lunch will be served. There will be snacks, coffee & tea during the short breaks as well. Please let us know of your dietary restrictions.
While you can use it for an emergency, the idea of the silent meditation retreat is to unplug yourself from devices. You can provide the Monastery landline as an emergency contact number (519) 267-0397.
Yes, parking is available at the monastery, when you park, please be mindful of turtles who might crawl under your vehicles. As the monastery property is a ecologically sensitive area and this is the turtle nesting season.
While you can bring your friends & partners the whole idea is to find seclusion in silence. Which is the proven tool for self-reflection.
Monastery indoors are not pet friendly, and it would be ideal if you do not have any responsibilities to attend to during the program.
